ab tau ye aarzuu hai ke wo zakhm khaa’iye
taa-zindagi ye dil na ko’ii aarzuu kare
tujh ko bhulaa ke dil hai wo sharminda-e-nazar
ab ko’ii hadisaa hi tere ru-ba-ruu kare
chup chaap apni aag meiN jalte raho “Faraz”

beautiful … most of the she’rs seem close to my heart .. they say shairs often mirrored thoughts of the common … seems true .. harek lafz merey dil ka haal kehta hai
Thanks for publishing this beautiful ghazal. I have heard it sung by Runa Laila, and it is wonderful. Some of the phrases are difficult for me to understand. Would love to see a translation.
I have not listened to Runa Laila’s rendition of this Ghazal, would try to find it out.
I have tried to write the meaning of the difficult words, hope that helps.
