    34. Even though I donot belong to the Dhoop Kinaray generation…. watching the serial as well as (Tanhaiyaan, Aangan Tehra, Unkahi & 50/50) in this modern era simply made me realize the fact that how unlucky I am ….that I wasn’t granted by ALLAH a chance to live during the 1970’s & 1980’s….

      This ghazal is my favourite….offcourse beautifuly written by Mr. Faiz and sung (by Nayarra Noor)… i really wonder …whenever I hear this ghazal….it engenders a chimera…as if I was watching the song in 1987!

    37. My O My! I have searched for this thing everywhere. This really brings back memories which I thought were lost. I have seen the play two times (once in the 80’s on ptv) and the ghazal I have heard may be thousand times on that old vhs tape my brother had back in delhi, when I was in India 10 years ago.

      This is probably the simplest of the most poetic and romantic Urdu lyrics ever. And greatest of them all too!!

      2.2.07…hiiii….ohhhh my God!!!!!!!!!!!at last i got the full ghazal ,what i was always looking for and was eager to listen the melody of this great ghazal n the spirit ….behind it…it realy makes you feel as if you are in the another world ..a world which used to be for you n the world still is just meant for you …that reminds the existance of love …..and what better way to do it than through verse….and at times the poem in itself symbolize a subtle lonliness, of a soul and sure , the theme of the poem is obviously”pining for the beloved”and i still watch DHOOPKINAREY just to get to tuned to the lyrics of the greatest poet ”Faiz sb”and i always as to get tuned to these verses find my soul flying around in vast cosmos……and still feel a kind of void in me…..which binds to make me feel myself and and give me some time to still peep into my backyard soul……thanx for reminding of my old days ”again what could be better than the verse itself”and its really very haunting at times…..coz the memories of yester years some times make you grow and some times make you giggle and some times make you cry even……so thank you for making me feel n going through every emotion of mine……i am just some how deeply attached to this ghazal as it feels me that its the soul of me ..the real soul ……,,,Farzana siddiqui

    48. When I heard this ghazal years ago as a teenager in India it remained in my mind forever. I had despaired of ever finding it again until now. What is most incredible is how it seems to have touched so many other hearts the same way! In my mind this is probably the greatest work of music and poetry ever, given that it remained in my memory for so many years without fading!     61. I saw Dhoop Kinaray for the 1st time about 8-9 years ago, when it was being rebroadcast on PTV. They are showing it again nowadays, but I decided to get the DVD…which cost me about 200/-…but it is most definitely worth it. I am totally in love with the drama, all the characters were superb.

    75. I watched Dhoop Kinare whe growing up. Two Pakistani plays were my favourites - Dhoop Kinare and Tanhayaen. I just loved this nazm and am thrilled to have stumbled on this. Fabulous!

      Does anyone have the kajri from this play? “Menhdi se likh do hathon pe mere..” or it may have been from Tanhaiyan, I am not sure though I think it was from Dhoop Kinare.

    79. I feel a bit content that there r so many who share the same feelings as I do. And why should not it be? This drama and this ghazal with melodic voice of NN and splendid poetry by Faiz and above all remarkable acting (innocence & expressions)by MK & RK make it the most marvelous work ever produced by PTV. Yes its true that today generation is quite unlucky to be grown amidst a world of materialism, nudity, terror and injustice.

      This ghazal and Dhoop Kinare do not take me back to my loving memory lane but just make me cry over & over. But I am happy to view comments from different parts of world that this is common ( & it must be as our God is God of love) in all humans i.e. LOVE AND SINCERITY. And it soothes me so immensely.

    106. I chanced upon this link for the song while doing a random google search. As I listened to the lyrics unfoding in Nayyara Noor’s lilting voice, I felt a fullness in my heart I hadn’t felt in a long time :) As with everyone here, this tv serial and the soundtrack is linked to my beautiful childhood memories of watching Dhoop Kianare, Ankahi and Tanhanyiena in India. We were one of the few families who owned a ‘VCP’ (Video Cassette Player) in the mid eighties; naturally our more than enthusiastic neighbours would join us during the ‘Dhoop Kinare’ sessions! Also like others here, I didn’t understand the words, let alone the string of sentences then. The translations here made me realize how shockingly beautiful the lyrics are. Thank you whomsoever did this favour to so many of us! I’ve already listened to the four lines about a hundred time! :) Cheers.
