Faiz Sahab ka ek aur `Shahkar`bandish, Mehdi Hassan ki awaz ka kamal.Faiz Sahab ki fitrat hi ruumani hai–`us shokh ke ahista se khulte hue oth;hai us jism ke kambakht dilavez khtuut—-`
I can describe his compositions as `Lilting Lyrics`

    2. Dear Doctor Sahib …!
I would rather say that Faiz Sahib is using metaphores here as I personally think that Faiz sahib was a true revolutionary . I like to quote one of his master pieces “Mujh say pehli si mohabat meray mehboob na maang” which clearly depicts that Faiz Sahib uses these metaphores to describe the Class Differences.

what a beautiful way of letting some one know that some one is really missing you today the most…..

kar raha tha ghame jahaan ka hisaab
aaj tum yad be hisaab aaye………

    4. Reply to Dr Srivastav Sahab: I agree with Mohsin. Read the rest of “Aaj tak .. Inhi surkho-siyah sadiyon ke saaye ke tale, aadam-o-Hauvva ki aulad pe kya guzri hai… Maut aur zeest ki rozana saf-aaraai … : for the revolutionary message which has been beautified with elegant Urdu idiom, to help propagate Faiz’s message. Another one “Do Ishq” “Chaha hai isi rang mein Laila-e-vatan ko….”

    5. The site is very informative. How can I download some the famous gazals of Mehdi Hassen from your web site

      Thank you,

      uday Phadnis

    6. Thank you, Uday Phadnis.

Unfortunately, you can’t download songs at Aligarians.com.

    7. Yoon bhi ker daikha hai k
Jab rahoon main dais perdais ki bai meher guzergahoon main
Kaaflai kamoto ruhsaro lubo gaiso k….

faiz sahib experienced and expressed all the shades of human feelings in its entirety. Now when I am thousands of miles from my country..this poem seems to be a part of my whole emotional being.

    8. What a beautiful description of imaginations

    9. iss video meN, Begum Akhtar saahibaa ik aur bhi she`r sunaa rahii thii, jo maiN ne pehli baar sunaa!

      She`r hai,

      “jal uThay bazm-e-Ghair ke dar-o-baam
      jab bhi ham KhaanumaH-Kharaab aayeN”

      Waa..h!
