Mehdi Hasan also used to add the following shair of Kunwar Mahinder Singh Bedi in several live renderings of this song. He also said that Faiz had himself recommended that this should be used in this ghazal-
“Chala jo teer-e-nazar neemkash to kya haasil
Mazaa to jab hai ki seene ke aar paar chale.”

yeah ofcourse sadia indeed beautiful no.coz i still remember my music sir ,, ustaad shafiq sb…who some how made us to learn this finest no….with his own moods, so i still found myself sitting in the music room when i tuned to this ghazal….and u know sadia how long we used to wait for him some times for an hour even ..n then …he some times never turned on ..on time,,,n how bad we used to feel ,,imagine westing one full hour …..,,see whats the magic of this ghazal that really transformed me into the world of passion for music n it takes me to the realm of reality….of those days whats past now..which just smells sweet….

This is the first ghazal i ever listen in aligharh in women’s college audirorium in 1976. This is a very beautiful ghazal. I can not forgett those moments which was given by this ghazal to me.Whener i listen this ghazal i alwaya found myself in Aligarh.

IIRC, this was the first ghazal I came across when I graduated from Jagjit Singh to Mehdi Hasan! Next on demand: Ranjish hi sahi! (maybe some live version of it??)
