ham jo din raat ye ‘atr-e-dil-o-jaaN khiiNchte haiN
naf’aa kam karte haiN ai yaar ziyaaN khiiNchte haiN

sochne ke liye mauzuu-e-suKhan ko’ii nahiiN !
subh se shaam talak sirf dhuaaN khiiNchte haiN

maine muddat se ko’ii sach bhii nahiiN bolaa hai
phir mujhe daar pe kyuN ahl-e-jahaaN khiiNchte haiN

ab bhii rahte haiN bahut aise bahaadur jo yahaaN
duudh piite hu’e bacchoN pe kamaaN khiiNchte haiN

vo musaahib jo zubaaN kholte Darte the kabhii
ab vahii mere buzurgoN kii zubaaN khiiNchte haiN

(musaahib : companions, associaites; buzurg : elders)

mere qaatil mujhe pehchaan gaye haiN shaayad
varnaa kyuN jism se yuuN nok-e-sanaaN khiiNchte haiN

(nok-e-sanaaN : tip of the sword)

this is a superb ghazal full with all the necessary connotations of the mood which is reflected and the qafiya and radeef are rare and special.
