I would very respectfully like to add that it would be more appropriate to translate the word “unvaan” in the last line as ‘title’ or ‘announcement’, ‘declaration’ rather than ‘subject’. The verse ‘tu bahaaroN ka hai unvaan…’ would mean ‘you are the title/announcement of the coming of the springs [of my life]‘

This truly is a masterpiece of Qateel, brilliantly sung by Mehdi Hassan. The last verses were added by Qateel two years later. These were not in the original version.

I am also very impressed by the mutually affectionate comments from India and Pakistan. I thank God for it and hope that this feeling will spread further, even if it is through music, poetry and sports.

Mere pakistani bhaiyon ko shayad ye afsos hota ho ki unke paas Lata Mangeshkar nahin hai. Magar Hum Hindustaniyon ko bhi is baat ka sakht afsos hai ki hamaare paas Mehdi Hasan nahin hain.

Jara sochiye kya hoga us din, jab Pakistan ke paas Mehdi Hasan nahin honge, aur Hindustan ke paas Lata Mangeshkar nahin hongi !!

Kya rakha hai is seema aur Kashmir ki dushmani mein…

Kum se kum in do mahaan sakshiyaton ke khayaalaat to bilkul aise hi hain, jaisi baat maine pichhle pare mein kahi hai.

Aage dono mulkon ke dayaanatdaaron ki khwaahish !!
