After reading this poem, i can say without any fear of contradiction that poet has written about this era. This contemporary piece of literature is really suitable for worlds political affairs.

aadaab arz hai !

I checked it again in the book and the couplet is same as I have posted it. I think tha author is trying to sarcastically comment on the state of affairs of the (pseudo)intellectuals today.

I have just one source. I would try to cross-check.

“har zehn jihaalat ke andheroN kaa hai maskan
har haath meN hai ilm kii mash’al mere Allah”

Should be,

“har zehn, jihaalat ke andheroN kaa hai maskan
har haath meN de ilm ki mash’al, mere Allah!”
