How very suffocating! A way out to expression should emerge If no voice rises At least a sigh should surge. The city poor still carries on him a rag The city rich still lag Behind their intended booty’s bag When realities such abound Then dreams too teem Why rue If some dreams proved But mere ‘seem’. Those philosophies which To each place bode ill Upon practice proved Made for the place! There too dusts swirled There too wounds amassed Wherever caravans of spring passed In repression’s regime We of heart stood our ground Tongue lashers that such bragged Ran aground! How very suffocating!
A way out to expression should emerge
If no voice rises
