dil nahiiN hogaa to ba’it nahiiN hogii hamse

roz ek taazah qasiidah nayii tashbiib ke saath
rizq bar-haq hai ye Khidmat nahiiN hogii hamse
(qasiidah : ode; tashbiih : metaphor; rizq : livelihood; bar-haq : true)
dil ke ma’abuud, jabiinoN ke KhudaaoN se alag
aise aalam meN ibaadat nahiiN hogii hamse
(ma’abuud : one who is worshipped; jabiin : forehead)
har nayii nasl ko ek taazah madiine kii talaash
saahebo! ab ko’ii hijrat nahiiN hogii hamse
