ohhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!my favourite ghazal singer,,,,Mehandi hasan sb..did wonders by singing this ghazal really…wonderful..n it really makes me remind of those days when i used to sing this ghazal in its own n true spirit,,,still i tuned n glued to this no..n i still wonder …if some times in his life time i would have met him..anyway…he is always with us,,,,, Mehadi sb moseeqee maiN yaqeenan zinda o tabinda hain…..ta qayamat..may Allah bless his soul…….Farzazna

could u plz tell me the source from where u found out about his death?becoz i just checked wikipidia and it says he is alive but not doing well!and above all he is not that unfamous whose death would go unnoticed!!!!!
Mehdi Hassan saahab is alive and well, alhumdulillah, in Karachi. He was critically ill recently following a paralytic attack but is on the road to recovery.

I second zainab muneer. He is definitely alive as I said earlier as of Feb 2007. He just appeared in series of Mobilink commercials as well last summer. I have no idea where Farzana is pulling this info from but yes, he lives among us in Karachi in fact.

Ghazal ke sultan, Janab M Hasan Sahib apni awaz ke jarie se meri bahut si tanhayion ke hamsafar ban gaye, Mujhe yaad hai mere fauji tambu mein pare tape player se ghanto Mehdi sahib ki ghazalen bajati rahti. Jaam aur shaam ke mere is fanqaar hamsafar ko mera purjosh salaam.
