1.) What is the purpose of this website?

The purpose of this website is to publish Urdu Poetry in Roman transliterated form that is not available the internet. Mushaira Recordings would also be posted, whenever available. You can find English Translations for some of the verses.

2.) What transliteration scheme are you following?It is based on a practical scheme developed by Raj Kumar sahab. You can see it HERE. It is similar to the one followed at www.urdupoetry.com but not exactly same.

3.) What else do you post?

You would find some fine articles on Urdu language and poets, writings and news related to Aligarh Muslim University and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.

4.) I really need the lyrics of a ghazal, can you find it for me?

Please send in the request at admin [at] aligarians [dot] com and we would see what we can do.

5.) Where can I find the meaning of some of the difficult words?

Platts Dictionary is a very good resource, help yourself.

6.) I would also like to contribute, how can I do it?

Please mail in new verses and/or audios at admin [at] aligarians [dot] com and they would be included with due acknowledgements.

7.) There are errors in the transliteration and in the main text?

Please point them out and they would be rectified. Thanks !
